Creating where life emerges.

Kaito Kawasaki is not making goldfish. He is reconstructing what allows a goldfish to exist as a goldfish — water, light, vessel, material, and the memory of the one who looks.
Kogei Realism工芸リアリズム
- I
Kogei (craft) is the practice of expressing an ecosystem that includes the human being.
- II
Within the relationship of material, environment, body, and perception, something actually rises into being. What is made is that emergence.
- III
This is not realism achieved through technical skill. It is an attitude that reconstructs the very conditions of existence itself.

REPRESENTATIVE WORKSArtist
KAITO KAWASAKI
Kaito Kawasaki is not an artist who imitates life. He is an artist who, through kogei (craft), creates the place where life rises up.
Born in 2000 in Kure, Hiroshima Prefecture. Metal-casting artist (imono / kaikin). Completed the master's program in Metal Casting, Department of Crafts, Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts, in 2026. Based in Tokyo.
A cast goldfish is placed inside a body of acrylic resin. The resin is neither an added material nor a protective shell — it functions as an environment: another form of water. Polishing, heat, oxygen, temperature. By precisely tuning these conditions, color is generated.
